The past was short. The future is long.
As Creative Director and now Head of Marketing, I've been setting my eye on longer film formats. My interest no longer focuses on 30 or 60-second TV-commercials but on the kind of films that tell their stories with more time and depth whether it's corporate films, documentaries, or even another movie.
Recently, I finished a screenplay, which is an adaptation of the literary novel "The Fabric of Happiness". And here is a brief summary of the story.
Lyanne, a professionally successful but angst-driven and high-strung urbanite embarks on a journey to a distant tropical island hoping to escape her fear of life and of death. Upon meeting Manuel, a mysterious local shaman living in an old house by the sea, she feels an instant connection, which he explains is rooted in the many encounters they have had beyond this specific lifetime. When Manuel reveals to her his secret teachings, Lyanne realizes how detached from life she has become, and how much she has denied herself.
And here is a mood-promo for the film...
